What is pregnancy support counselling?
Pregnancy support counselling is a non-directive form of counselling, based on the understanding that, in many situation, people can resolve their own problems without being provided with a solution.
This service involves undertaking a safe, confidential process that helps the woman explore concerns they have about a pregnancy. This includes providing unbiased, evidence based information about options and services available for the women, where requested.
As a Credentialed Mental Health and having completed the required training, Emily meets the eligibility criteria to provide this service.
The pregnancy support counseling rebate only covers 3 sessions, although you may continue working with Emily as a private client, or referred again under another appropriate initiative.
Referral Process
Any GP may refer you via a signed and dated letter. Make a phone call to Emily to discuss the referral and we go from there. A new referral is require for each pregnancy.
Costs
$70.00 with a Medicare rebate $62.20 (Gap = $7.80)
